i hope that kerry stays involved. though i also want the opposite of sex to make it... i just love me some kerry.
Good news then.
What about Aladdin - that's got to be a tough one to put onstage too!
I do not believe Kerry is involved in the project anymore. I know someone who was called back for Ariel in the reading. Have not spoken to her since she told me about it. Does anyone know who was involved in this "internal reading"?
Kerry Butler is lovely, and I know she looks great, but Ariel really should be played by someone in their early 20s.

well kerry was ariel in the public reading, and i highly doubt they'll pass on someone as talented as kerry if they can get her.

after seeing piazza i'm pretty sure that kelli o'hara can do no wrong either.
That reading was a while back though, and THE LITTLE MERMAID is probably not going to be on Broadway for another couple of seasons. They may not want a forty year old mermaid!
Idina would look good in shells!

idina? *pulls out gun and shoots self*
Interestingly enough, no mention of who is collaborating on the lyrics for the new songs.
Anyone know?

Aw, yay! I'd love to see Kerry in THE LITTLE MERMAID! Of course there is some rumor of OoS getting to Broadway, but I don't think it is going to take that long to happen. (Hm, wonder if I"m supposedd to say that?) There is also Legally Blonde, which she sang at Birdland and , to me, she sounded perfect for Elle. WHo knows, though!
By the way: The few songs I've heard from Legally Blonde are adorable! Larry O'Keefe and Nell [ Inser last name HERE] are brillian!
HAHA
WORK accomplished!
(my last comment about Idina was in response to the "They may not want a forty year old mermaid!" comment.)
Actually I do think they'll eventually go with an unknown. They'll get the 2007 equivelent of Ashley Brown ("On the Record") -- a recent college grad with amazing potential.
Almost all workshops feature established talent. And if they want to go that route -- how about Jessica Grove?

Last night at New Voices there was this girl, Carly Frankel, who won some contest they had, and she was amazing. I'm pretty sure she is fairly young too. I think she'd be ready to go by '07, she rocked!
...or maybe 2007's American Idol...

Emily Skinner as Ursula... Brilliant!!!! She's great!
Jessica Grove isn't exactly an ESTABLISHED talent- she's a known talent, who is indeed v. talented, but she's not established
Haha, I've never seen that.
Actually, the tickets were for my mom for mother's day. Last night at dinner she goes, "OH SH!T! THE SHOW'S AT 7 TOMORROW!!!" And my dad says, "Yeah...." And mom says, "Just reminding you."

Jessica has done consistently wonderful work in her projects and has been making a name forherself among the theatre community here. she isn't a 'name' performer, but she definately known as a strong perfomer with a great talent.
Up in Lost -what is OoS?
