The Indonesian Wayang shadow puppets and the Thai nang talung (which must be what they mean for "nang kaloung" - possibly some Cambodian variant of the term) are all related back to carrying the tales of the great Hindu epics and strongly rooted in Southeast Asia.
But the Japanese Bunraku? Way off in culture and style as miniature lifelike against the other, decorously stylized. I don't get the mix of puppets at all.
