I don't know if this was a thread already, but one of my directors for my musical theatre company said to me that this was soon coming to broadway?
True or no?

Posted: 3/8/04 at 11:02pmyes this already has been talked about...there were workshops of it starring Kerry Butler, but supposedly it needs a lot of work so it probably wont be on broadway for a few more years...at least 2 is my guess.

That's the magic of Disney and the theater?

Posted: 3/9/04 at 1:30pmThe magic Disney and theatre. Right. ...I work at The Lion King. The only thing magical about that show is the opening number. Every animal puppet in the show is based on life -an animal that can actually walk. I have seen LM in DIsney...they basically have some chick sitting on a rock with a mermaid tail. I hope if this does come to Broadway the think of something much more inventive than that cheesy crap.

I saw that, and I agree with you - it was most definitely crap. But, I tend to think that if it comes to Broadway, it will be a *lot* better, simply by virtue of it being a Broadway show. When was the last time there was anything as bad as that Disney show on Broadway? I'm not saying they'll pull it off well - I have my doubts - but I'm pretty sure it'll be better than the one in Disney World.
