I miss it soooooooo much. I'm still so upset that the Nederlanders closed it to make way for TARZAN. Not that I wish TARZAN any failure, but it just seems a little underhanded, as if Disney Theatricals struck a deal to force MOVIN' OUT to close.
I've never seen a dance piece that moved me like MOVIN' OUT did. Joel's orchestrations were phenomenal and he deserved the TONY he won for it. Tharp's amazing choreography told the story brilliantly and flawlessly. I'm glad it was considered a musical and not "theatrical event" because it really is a book musical. It tells a story through music and dance, without and need for dialogue.
I know there's others out there. Show your MOVIN' OUT love!
Count me in.
Rasta Thomas's Eddie blew me away.
Another fan here. I can not see how they could close this show.
I miss it more and more everyday.
I am so glad I got to see it a month before it closed. definately a memory I will have for a long time.

Well, I at least thought it was unique, by far more than such thing as Tarzan...
I'd be interested to see how its business is in London.
Me too FOA - and I wish the creative team of the upcoming revival had included a few more dancers from this show. I still would have rather seen Elizabeth Parkinson or Karine Plantadit-Bageot dance Cassie over Charlotte D'Amboise.
Elizabeth Parkinson would make a wonderful Cassie. anyone know how she is in the vocal department?
I'm seeing it in Boston in a few weeks! Can't wait!
Oh Movin' Out. I cant even begin to describe what a phenomenal show it was and how much of an impact it had on me. Each time I saw the show it got better and better. And the cast was one of the most talented on Broadway in years, and they are all so sweet and such incredible dancers, especially Elizabeth Parkinson and John Selya. I wish I knew what they were up to now, because im dying to see them dance again! And Keith Roberts is amazing too. I just find it so unfair that such a unique and groundbreaking show had to close for a patterned Disney show. Movin' Out was truly an amazing show, and deserved far more praise and recognition than it recieved.
and I'd just like to add, that along with Movin' Out, I give huge love to Billy Joel. His songs are one of the great loves of my life.
I love Movin' Out so much. Micheal Cavanaugh is from around where I grew up, and my show choir choreographer knew him really well. I saw it twice when it came to Cleveland and saw him and I love the entire show. I think it's beautiful with no dialogue and the gorgeous choreography of Twyla Tharp. Not to mention Billy Joel music!!! ugg it's one of my absolute faves!
I just loved the show for the music. The dancing was good but it got repetitive after awhile. I miss Michael Cavanaugh!!! I wish I could see him again in it, he was so great and he was so nice when I met him.
Count me in on the love as well, I do wish I could see it on Broadway again!
I loved Movin' Out and I am glad that I was able to see it as many times as I did (including the closing show). I absolutely adored all of it. I was a Billy Joel fan before seeing the show and loved how the music was used. I am a dancer myself and a major dance fan. I thought the dancing was phenominal and wish that I could see John Selya, keith Roberts, and Elizabeth Parkinson onstage again together soon. Not to mention Michael Cavenaugh. I love his voice.
Another fan here! I am so glad I got to see it b4 it closed. I was really upset when I heard about the closing because I wanted more people to see it and I wanted to see it a zillion more times, too. I'm also a huge Billy J fan since I was little. I went to his concert this year at Syracuse University and he mentioned the lawsuit with the tour. I really wished it hadn't closed. Even though there is still the tour, it's just not the same
I've seen it in London, and whilst it is not as sharp as Broadway, it's still a great show, though it is lost in the cavernous Victoria Apollo. James Fox gives a confident performance, making the songs his own.
Noone can match EP, but Holly Cruickshank is no slouch!
