re: Where to meet Nathan and Matthew for 'Odd Couple' May 3 2006, 04:36:47 PM
I actually just saw "Odd Couple" this past spring and I got the vibe that Nathan hates the world after the show. He did sign my autograph but Matthew was a lot kinder and really seemed to really enjoy signing and greeting.

re: Disney and Broadway Apr 27 2006, 01:04:57 AM
Again I reiterate that I love Disney movies. That said I think BatB was perfect for the stage and they completely took the theatre community by storm by producing it. However, I feel that all disney shows since have diminished in quality. I think the problem isn't so much the quality of the movies they are turning as so much that fact that it's already been done, they rushed into too many shows after the initial success of BatB. Now as MusicMan says...they'll be competing against themselves. Ha

Favorite Sondheim Apr 26 2006, 10:29:15 PM
I think we can all agree that Stephen Sondheim is amongst the greatest composers of musical theatre ever! However which Sondheim show (revival or original cast) is your favorite? Mine is the Original cast of Into the Woods.

re: Disney and Broadway Apr 26 2006, 08:58:33 PM
Now I love Disney more than anything, and i'm a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast on stage...I wasn't too keen on the Lion King. It just seems to me that all Broadway will be soon enough is Disney... seriously how many theatres are going to be disney shows????

re: The MOVIN' OUT Love Thread Apr 26 2006, 08:52:30 PM
I love Movin' Out so much. Micheal Cavanaugh is from around where I grew up, and my show choir choreographer knew him really well. I saw it twice when it came to Cleveland and saw him and I love the entire show. I think it's beautiful with no dialogue and the gorgeous choreography of Twyla Tharp. Not to mention Billy Joel music!!! ugg it's one of my absolute faves!

Disney and Broadway Apr 26 2006, 08:50:40 PM
Okay call me out of the loop but exactly how many shows does Disney have Broadway plans for? Currently they are running, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and the recently opened Tarzan. I've heard about The Little Mermaid is there anything else?

re: How much $$$... Apr 22 2006, 05:21:26 PM
I actually just wrote a research essay on the costs of broadway productions. According to "On Broadway" a book by Steven Adler the average show may cost around$550,000 to operate for one week.
