Mamie...apparently you're not familiar with Megan's background before she became solely known as Karen (Anastasia Beaverhausen) Walker on the long-running NBC sitcom "Will & Grace".

I'm sorry - but you haven't convinced me that this belongs on the main board. A LOT of people have experience in the theatre, but it doesn't mean that everything they do from that point on belongs on the main board. If so, then why weren't all the W&G threads here as well?

UM..no actually if it is indeed the show with Will Ferrell & Jenny McCarthy then it was shot Friday afternoon, the 15th.

I agree that it's very gimmicky and she's trying too hard. Maybe in a few weeks it'll get tighter.

i thought the opening was quite cute...in my mind everyone still see's her as Karen Walker she should have waited a little bit before jumping back on tv.

Yea, that was Chenoweth. She shot an episode about three weeks ago as one of the test shows.

yes..Kristin's ep is scheduled to air on the 23rd of October..and is supposed to be taped on the 10th of October.

the test show was actually taped on August 9th and will not air. This will be a new appearance.

She seems pleasant. She was funny on "Will and Grace". When I'm off work I'll have to check out her show.

I thought that it was quite good. There were some awkward moments that hopefully will not be there for too long. I agree that it should be taped in NYC, I think that the audience would be more receptive.
Only time will tell. The best of luck to her and her new show.

It has already gotten better. Yesterday (or, today on TBS in NYC is) was great. Well, at least the segments with Lisa Kudrow. The boy singing Mandarin Opera? Not so much...

But it's probably just my personal taste.

It definitely needs to be taped in NYC. Maybe it'll make the move.

well...the show is in a train-wreck mode so far. You just want to watch the whole thing AND it flies by quickly. She definitely needs to polish her interview skills because she is falling flat continuously. Her guests have been sharp enough to rise above her level, which has made the show bearable.

We're on the 4th show now and there have been some amusing moments (the 'cooking' seqment with Lisa Kudrow and the audience 'advice' section with Eva Mendes), but Megan needs to bring some more to the plate on her own.

Her 'on air' personality is too safe right now -- she needs to savy up some more. There have been quick instances where she's 'let go' a bit...but she's still playing it way to safe.

I agree that she needs to relax a bit, not play it so safe, and it should mellow out soon. She just needs some time and we'll just have to see if NBC allows her to have it.
One other note, did it bother anyone else that when she was saying goodbye to her guests, she wasn't looking at them, she was looking at the camera?
the set also seems too big for this sort of thing. The band is miles away from her and the performance space is bigger than some off-bway stages. It's like she's trying to fill that huge space and it doesn't quite make it. I doubt she will shoot in NYC. She's probably pretty well established in LA after years of W&G. I'd love to get her back on Broadway.
One idea I had that I thought would be fun, is if she did one episode a month completely as Karen Walker. I think that would be hilarious. She could say and do just about anything as Karen and get away with it.

Wow! That would bring in the numbers immensley -- the last Friday of every month it's The Karen Walker Show and she can sing numbers ala Karen, etc. I'm sure she'd be up to since she still embraces WILL & GRACE. It would be great to have Shelly Morrison come in a Rosario as well. And occasional visits from Will (Eric McCormick), Grace (Debra Messing) and Jack (Sean Hayes).
