Speech and Debate, in the Blackbox theater last year.
In one scene, the characters are involved in an intense discussion, and are suddenly interrupted by a loud knock on the door. When the knock came, I literally jumped in the air, I was so involved in the scene. I truly felt like I was part of the play, and that someone from the outside world was banging on the door.

I have to second Frozen at Circle in the Square.
The show deals with some pretty heavy material, and uncomfortable situations...and I haven't felt that absorbed by a show since. I wish I'd had the chance to see it again.
