I have never seen it, but I'm moderately curious.

Does anyone have any thoughts they'd like to share?

Peace pipes and peppy puppies,

I saw this last year and it is really cool. I plan on going back early this summer. It's really incredible. I highly recommend it.

It's 30 short "plays" performed in random order in an hour. I used to be a regular when they first started in Chicago 20 years ago. Part of what makes it work is the random, casual atmosphere. Some pieces are funny, some dramatic, some more like performance art.

And of course, it was Too Much Light folks that created Urinetown.

Thanks for the responses guys!

Yes, JoeK, I got the basic idea. I'm curious to hear opinions on the actual content, being wary of these sort of long-running, out-of-the-way, basement-theater, improv-leaning troupes who build shows around a gimmick.

For $15, you probably can't go totally wrong, but I have an intense aversion to the schlocky, hackey, and hokey. This group seems to be fairly well-respected, though, so I was hoping to hear folks' personal experiences, positive, negative, neutral, or otherwise.

Well the content is constantly changing. Every week they change a certain number of the skits. This is determined at the end of the night when the role a die. Whatever number comes up is the number of skits the change the following week. Most of them are quite funny.

I haven't seen it in years and as BJH says it changes constantly but I can say I probably saw it 40 or 50 tines and never had a bad time. I thought their casting was particularly strong- the troupe was always evolving and I never saw a dud performer.

Nice. Lovely. Thank you. That's that kind of thing I was hoping to hear!

To be quite honest, given their longevity, I'm shocked that there have been no signifcant threads about them on this board.
