Did anyone happen to see "The News" back in 1985? I had chatted with Paul Shierhorn about 10 years back when I had the Lost Musicals website, but I couldn't find anyone that had seen the show.
Maybe now that the internet has opened up the theatre community, someone will be able to share their take on the show.

I saw it at the Saturday matinee, November 2nd, 1985. Have an audio cassette recording of it somewhere. Anyway, it was a show probably about the "size" of Xanadu, and even played the same theater. Jeff Conaway was the star; mostly all I remember about him was his flailing his arms wildly during one of the musical numbers. Speaking of those, one of them - "Talk To Me" - seemed to have something of an extended life after the show closed as someone once told me it was used as the music for some phone company commercial! As far as I know, the actress who played Conaway's daughter - the 2nd lead - Lisa Michaelis, never surfaced again. Hunk Tony Crivello played the serial killer.
