NYT: Can the Country’s ‘Dirtiest Hotel’ Get a Clean Slate?

I saw 2 off-broadway musicals in the hotel's theater over the years:

1969 - Curley McDimple

1980 - Ka-Boom!

Promises, Promises 2001 with George Hearn and Jason Graae

Anyone have an audio and/or video that they could provide me with?

This was done in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre.

MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN On Broadway in 2025?

I was told 2 things just now:

1) Sonia Friedman has joined the production team,  and

2) 2026.

Muhammad ALI musical to premiere in Chicago spring 2025

Anyone aware of a demo recording of the score?

Jacobs-Jenkins play PURPOSE headed to Broadway

So this IS a commercial production?

I can't find the producers involved anywhere.

Summer Stock Memories from 1968 to 1976

Two things:

I so very much share your enthusiasm for this long gone but inordinately high quality summer stock venue.

I also appreciate your painstakingly constant research and regular updates.

Anyone who missed attending a show there over the years, sadly missed out.

And, of course, I have my personal favorites.

Carlsberg forever!

TOMMY To Close on July 21, 2024

scripps said: "I was there. It was electric. Des gave a lengthy speech at the end. All the best to this cast, especiallyAli. I cannot wait to see what he does next."

I can see him starring in Dear Evan Hansen, as Barnaby in Hello, Dolly!, and as the wannabe boyfriend in Next To Normal.

I'll try to come up with some others.

I think that he's extremely talented.

Why hasn't The Wizard of Oz appeared more on Broadway?

The 1902 was revived in Canton, Ohio on July 10, 2010.

I was there.

Clips from it were on YouTube sometime ago.

Jeremy Jordan in concert at Steppenwolf Chicago yesterday.

I had never seen him perform onstage until this.

He did a 90 minute show in which he included a song from the recent Gatsby musical.

He also performed a number from Little Shop; for which a volunteer was chosen from the audience to act as Audrey.  Somewhere during he jokingly mentioned that in time, he'd be playing Mr. Mushnik.

Another highlight was a roughly 10 minute capsule version of Newsies; in which he acted and sang all the roles!

BEACHES musical continues development and will return in 2024

What is an industry reading?

BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical - Pre-Broadway Chicago

Enough secrecy about the casting; already.

C'mon.

Couldn’t agree more. He was fantastic!

Brandon Uranowitz, please, please.

Who's Max Chernin?

Any word on an afterlife for LIFE AFTER?

After seeing it at the Goodman Theater Chicago in June, I got it into my head that it was next Broadway bound, but that was just me thinking.

It has apparently fallen off the radar though, and I am curious to know if anyone has any update...

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA Musical (Chicago Pre-Broadway) - News & Discussion Thread

They have a hit here, whether it’s a critical success is another story. Wicked was also notably panned out of town, so who knows if they do any changes to this at all."

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 7/10/22

Probably the fact it got government money and, since it’s closing on the 24th, has no incentive to shut down at this point

What government money?

LIFE AFTER - Pre-Broadway at Goodman Chicago

Any affirmation that this is going to land on Broadway this season?

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 7/3/22

  • Paradise Square is finally getting up there! 70% capacity means it's beating Beetlejuice and Phantom of the Opera. Unfortunately, it's still only grossing $235k/week and needs ~$550k/week to break even, so they're still losing money. I guess that's why they're raising more money.

  • What's Beetlejuice's strategy here? It's the second week they&#
Ginger Rogers Singing

Oh, how I would love to hear Ginger's take on "I Put My Hand In."

Bet it was sublime.

Thanks so much for posting this. It remains one of my favorite shows, and I really enjoyed the cast and creative discussing its genesis. Emily and Alice both were quite amazing.
