Just curious, why does everyone love the flouder character so much?
And I liked BrianD'Addario in Les Miserables when he was Gavoroche! VERY jumpy at the stage door!

Posted: 1/28/08 at 5:37pmNo, DefyGravity, there is only two. Cody and JJ left the show the 12th and 13th of January. They got too old, and too tall, and their voices have started changing.

Flounder is arguably the single most demanding and complex role on Broadway. It takes an actor of grace and stamina to pull this nearly impossible part off well.
I think it's clear even at this stage, that the kids are going to win a collective Tony for best supporting actor.
We can all learn a lot about not only the fine art of performance, but life as well, from these stalwart young men who give so much of themselves several times a week.
Bravo Flounder! And boycott Long John Silvers!

Posted: 1/28/08 at 6:07pmi can not wait to see brian as flounder when i go tuesday march 11th. also can not wait to see the show in all. it may also be that trevor only can do matinees and the sunday show for personal reasons. i am hoping that brian/trevor get a nomination for supporting actor(s) for the tonys but look how they left out the jane and michael banks kids in mary poppins no reconization of what the broadway kids do on stage.

Um, I think it's highly unlikely either of the boys will get nominated. They are hardly in the second act and really only have one song. I don't think they'll be recognized, regardless of how great OR cute they might be. :)

pli1018, I THINK tazber was being sarcastic. Ha ha.

Posted: 1/28/08 at 7:27pmOh, I was responding to yankees, not tazber. I'm seeing the show in two weeks with Brian as Flounder, so you never know, I might contradict myself and be rooting for a Flounder Tony nod!!

Posted: 1/28/08 at 7:36pmI'm very bummed about no J.J. I saw him twice and Cody once in Denver and they were both really great. I would have loved to see J.J. when I got in March...

Posted: 1/28/08 at 9:08pmAs a huge Beauty fan and seeing him twice the final weekend, I thought he was very good in the very tiny role of Chip. He made the most of that role and you could tell he was enjoying every second of it. He was also very nice and polite at the stage door. Sorry for that little rant you may go back to your regularly scheduled discussion.

Posted: 1/28/08 at 9:39pmBoth of the kids are good onstage. That being said, Brian is the better of the two in my opinion. I hate criticizing kids but Trevor sometimes overacts and Brian seems to be pretty consistent. Honestly though, both do a fine job in their role.

LimelightMike,
Depends if you're going on the Mat or Evening.
Both kids (in my opinion) are fantastic!
Although, personally, if I see the show, I'd want to see Brian.
Just my two cents.
Trevor is amazing as well, so either way you'll be in for a treat.
