The ORIGINAL Wendla

Posted: 5/28/11 at 5:51pmI just found out it was Haven Burton and NOT Lea Michele. Apparently Haven was involved with Spring Awakening before Lea. Anyone know of this or seen/heard Haven?

Posted: 5/28/11 at 5:55pmI have heard that she was the original Wendla in a workshop, but I have never heard or seen any performance.

Posted: 5/28/11 at 5:55pmI believe so. Haven was first, then some unknown girl at Sundance, and THEN Lea. So Lea is the 3rd Wendla, I think.

Well, "being with the show" doesn't necessarily indicate "being Wendla in the show" since she was 13. She obviously started out as one of the ensemble kids and worked her way up, if she was the 3rd one to play the character.
(And I don't care anyway; I think Lea is talented but like what she's doing now, better. I didn't like the show. I liked Christine Ebersole in it when I saw it 3 years ago, though. I think she was the only "name" in it when I saw it. The kid who had played "Karl" on "Lost" had just left, also. Can't remember who played his role.)

Yes, Wish, Estabrook. Thank you. My memory's going more and more in my old age (and I ain't even 40 yet. Sigh.).
This actress also appeared on "Desperate Housewives" in the first season and her character is referenced all the time (the crazy Harriet Sansom Harris' character's dead sister). And now you may return to regularly-scheduled thread. :)
