Speaking of the OTHER Rose, has anyone seen Karen Mason in "Gypsy" at the Westchester Theatre in Elmsdorf, NY? I'm just wondering how she's doing in that role. RC in Austin, Texas

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Where's Maryann LoPinto when you need her?

I saw Karen in GYPSY and thought she was pretty darn good and brought her own take on the role. You can see highlights through the interview I did with her here:

That was awesome. Best of luck to Ms. Mason. She is wonderful and delightful. Thanks for link Craig. re: The OTHER Rose

I want to know about her.

Although, her reason for wanting to do this at this time seems odd. Why wouldn't she want to be over shadowed by Patti?

In all likelihood, the Westchester Broadway Theatre's production was planned and set before the City Center production was cemented.

And, I agree with Craig, Karen Mason is very good as Madame Rose. I actually prefer her take to Patti LuPone's.

I saw her LIVE, and I won't judge a performance based on video clips.

I worked as child wrangler as intern for this production for two weeks. From my many monitor viewings backstage I thought she was fantastic. She brought an incredible energy and fire to the role, I'm sad the run is over.

I also miss the kids in it terribly.
