Congratulations on a show that will be remembered for a very long time.
I do wish the Playbill article had not used the word "mimic" regarding Ebersole's performance. It was so much more than that. So VERY much more.

I saw the show for the third and final time last night and I can't get over how amazing the entire cast is. Break a leg to Christine in London and to everyone else involved in their future projects!

Grey Gardens, you will be missed, and though i never had the chance to witness you in person, you were probably the most creative, original, and brilliant thing to come through in a long time... best of luck to the cast and crew on all future projects...

I certainly wouldn't call the show unappreciated.

I am also very sad to see this go. I don't think I've been affected this deeply by a show before. A big "Thank you" to the creators, cast, and crew for the incredible journey and best wishes to them in their future endeavors.

I found GREY GARDENS to be a fascinating piece. I agree with whoever said this is the next FOLLIES. It deserved a much longer run than it got.

it was fantastic. i had never been to a closing before. ebersole's initial appearance stopped the show with a standing ovation. her voice was heaven this afternoon. everyone was great. i was particularly impressed with erin davie's performance, which has grown SO much since november. composer scott frankel spoke during the final curtain call.

since we are going back home tomorrow, we were considering seeing another show tonite, but it just would not have been right. we are still riding the tide of emotion greated by GG.

Today was such an emotional experience. I am so grateful I got to be there for the final performance of such a beautiful, brilliant show. I can honestly say that I have never been so moved by a show. Thank you to the cast, crew, and creative team that brought this show to life.

As for the show, it was electric. Full house, and the audience was loving it. One of my favorite moments was when the house opened to reveal Christine and Erin the first time, and the audience was just applauding. After Christine was done, the audience was screaming again and Erin and Christine just stood there hugging. So emotional.

Scott Frankel made a speech at the end, which was so heartfelt and beautiful. He introduced both Michaels (Korie and Greif) and Doug Wright. At the very end, he thanked the Edies. It was beautiful.

I will miss this show like I have never missed a show before.

I was also at the concert Christine went to afterward, and she sounded beautiful as usual. She did a different version of "Will You?"

So, I'm going to gush a little. Hope that's okay. Ok great!
I'd also like to take this opportunity to apologize to anyone on the left side of the orchestra who found tissues covered in mascara next to their feet. Although I'd also like to plug Mac mascara, which did a pretty decent job withstanding the ultimate test (aka today's performance). So, back on topic...

The performance today was just breathtaking, and today was basically the most surreal day of my life. Thanks to the incredibly eccentric, but fabulous Maureen Moore, I ended up backstage on a complete whim, and then ONSTAGE breaking every union rule around, as Maureen was telling us to take it all in, and asking us to take pictures of her and the real Jerry! And speaking of Jerry, meeting him was just fantastic. He was so gracious, and I overheard him saying something like "Today was like saying goodbye to the Edies all over again..." He spoke about the Edies so highly, and was answering all kinds of questions. It was really nice to see.

Scott Frankel (who spoke at the end of the show-I have most of it recorded if anyone is interested...I just have to upload it) and Michael Greif were also in attendance. Scott Frankel was signing away after the show. I spoke to him breifly afterwards as well. He was also very patient and gracious.

I have nothing but love for this show and the people involved in it. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that it's over. SIGH...
