ugh. bad pizza. you know who makes nasty pizza? hospitals. they make EVERYTHING nasty. especially vegetarian food.
i was in the hospital for 3 months and the only good food i got there was the breakfast food. cereal and toast. because it was PACKAGED. and not once did i get jell-o. it doesn't have a high enough caloric value.

Good morning everybody!
We had a terrific day yesterday. On Saturday Greg and I started sending messages back and forth. About 25 emails later we had decided to meet at 2:00 and have a pre-show tour. At the time I got the tickets I didn't realize it was Superbowl Sunday. In addition to wanting to see the game, Greg told me that the cast usually got together for a dinner after the Sunday show. So for those reasons alone it was worthwhile to move the tour up earlier. SO - I told Colleen all about it on the way to NY and she was absolutely psyched by the time we got there.
We arrived at the stage door a little too early so we went over to D&D for a coffee. I was looking out the window when a car pulled up and Jonathan got out and came in. He got his coffee and Colleen got up the nerve to ask him for his autograph on her souvenir program. He was absolutely charming and told her he hoped she would enjoy the show. (As it turned out, that was an enormous UNDERstatement!)
We went back across the street and while waiting for Greg, Sherie and her baby arrived. (I'm not positive but I think the good looking guy with her might have been her hubby.) Greg suddenly appeared at my side and after exchanging greetings with Sherie, I got a big hug and a kiss. I introduced him to my sister and niece and then we all went into the theatre and up to his dressing room. Since Rose and Colleen had never seen the show (or the cam) Greg gave them a detailed tour of his massive dressing room. When it came to the pics of the kids, my sister came into her element. She told Greg that she had 2 grandkids and of course he was extremely charming and told her he wanted her vitamins because she couldn't possibly be a 2 time grandma. One of my sister's grandkids names' is Zachary but I had to point out the fact that Zack's daddy's name is Greg. The long and short of it is that I think we're now all related!
Greg pointed out his extensive wardrobe changes and that gave me the opportunity to grab hold of BFF and give it a rub. He even remarked that it was a terrifically soft and warm robe.
He then took us on one of his extensive backstage tours, introducing us to everyone who passed by on the way. My sister and niece were astounded that he was taking so much time and allowing them all the time in the world to see everything and talk to everybody downstairs. We went to all the dressing rooms and talked to the two guys in the wig room who were setting up all the big hair. He then showed us how the microphones were hidden inside that big hair (because the girls have so many costume changes and show so much skin, they can't wear theirs the way he does.)
Eventually we were back in his dressing room and we were there when the announcements came about the cast members who were out. There were SO MANY of them! They actually had to work out new dance patterns for the opening and GBS numbers because they didn't have enough girls in to do it the usual way. Joanna and Tom G. were both out, and that really broke my heart. (Greg told me that Joanna has vocal chord stress(?) Sore throat???) The relief came when they DIDN'T say that Norbie was out. Greg saw that Colleen had her souvenir program with her and he asked her if she would like him to get it autographed for her. He said he'd give it back to her after the show. (DID I MENTION THAT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GUY?!) It was then about 2:35 so he escorted us back down to the door. More hugs and kisses and we were off to the house front.
The show was absolutely hysterical. I've really got to find out from somebody about Jonathan and Ruprecht. I just can't believe that all of this mania was planned. You know the scene with John when he would sit on the bed next to R and R would jump on his lap and ....... get affectionate? Well this time R had J flat on the bed - J tried to get away and ended up crawling down to the end of the bed and falling on the floor. He was laughing so hard he couldn't get the words of the song out! Every time he glanced Norbert's way he'd start laughing again. During Shuffhausen, it started all over again. This time Norbert was laughing harder than Jonathan. J pulled out the feather to start tickling N's foot and N looked like he was almost biting his bottom lip off to keep from laughing. N's laughing then got Sherie started. We were sitting in the first row of the mezz, and laughing so hard at the mania going on down below that we were crying! It was absolutely hysterical!
(SPOILER)
I have a million other thoughts that will come and go for the next few months..... Greg's pointing to us from the palm tree (we had pointed out our seats when we were on the stage), getting the big wave from him during the curtain call, the enormous response the crowd gave Sherie when she hit that final big note in the DRS ending, (not to mention the cheers she got when she revealed herself to be the Jackal), more hugs and kisses from the adorable one at the stage door when it was time to leave.
(END SPOILER)
We did have to leave right after seeing Greg because my niece had been laughing so hard in the theatre that she had to go to the bathroom - so we had to run. On the way to the Marquis (nicest bathrooms you know!) she and Rose were yelling out "I LOVE GREG JBARA!!!!!"
So - guess who has two new die-hard fans? (Who could have doubted it?)
aahhh wonderful. thats so cool how you and greg are like best friends! hahaha. i don't know what to do with myself when i get my tour. i'm so unbelievably shy. i really want to meet greg and joanna but i also may chicken out. its soooo stressful!
i also heard that joanna was having foot surgery due to her injury a few...months?...ago.
i must see joanna gleason as muriel. i must. i will die of sadness like the lady of camile if i do not.
and Mamie:
"Greg has this incredible ability to put people at ease. He makes you feel like you've done him the greatest favor by coming to see him. You're so comfortable with him that all nervousness goes right out the window. So I wouldn't be too worried about being too shy to meet him!"
i hope you are right. i mean greg seems like the nicest guy of all time but my emotions are so....they're right THERE all the time on the edge. i mean i cry listening to "the wizard and i" and everytime i watch the "into the woods" dvd, i lose it. what if i go backstage and i turn into a sobbing mess and my eyeliner runs all down my face? egads!
i can't make delicious deli treats but i'm a hell of a baker! (hehehe. or the baker's wife?) anyway....i can bake liz & mary cookies on the sly!
i unfortunatly lack the self confidence to not wear eyeliner.
hehehe!
in 59 days i'm not sure WHAT show i'll be seeing.
but in SIXTY i will be seeing some GREAT BIG STUFF if you catch my drift
you want a chicken one? i can make chicken. just not like red-meat or anything.
okay liz i am on it!
