too darn hot, In the most respectful way as possible, I ask that you leave us alone. We don't want rent bashers on a rent love thread.
What have Johnny's parents said about the closing, has anyone heard anything
OKay TDh you need to go away and get off this thread. Rent has been on Broadway for 12 years and it has developed many fans and now it's closing it deserves a thread. This is the thread and you need to leave this one to the people who actually care. So stop with your stupid comments and leave us in peace.

Ah, TDH
I am not afraid to say that I have had the pleasure to enjoy Rent 33 times. I am VERY sad to see it go. If I were living in the city I might actually try the lotto for closing night or something like that. But, considering that I am not in NYC this weekend and in small town CT for college, I am really going to try hard not to focus on the fact that tonight is the last performance of it on Broadway.
TDH, go away, your not wanted here. If you wanna create a thread to bash Rent more power to you. But, considering that this is a Rent love thread I do wonder if you have a soul because you seem to get pleasure in bashing Rent left and right.
"second of all,
you have no life
third of all,
I Love Rent"
well that's pretty ironic (and somewhat contradictory)

*sigh* Listening to Seasons of Love on Rent.TheHotTicket.com is making me all kinds of emotional. It's been quite a while since the thick of my RENT obsession. But it's still just so SURREAL to think that it's closing tonight.
It's been a great run, but... still, incredibly, incredibly bittersweet. I know there will be the tour, and I'm SURE there will be a revival at some point, but... this really is the end of an era.
This may be corny, but I don't care. It's really the only thing that I feel can be said on this "no day but today":
Thank you Jonathan Larson.

I can't believe it is actually closing
in response to stupidbeans' question way back a long time ago...
I met Al and Julie Friday night at the Life Cafe (part of the Finale B contest thing) and though I obviously can't speak for them, here's what I got: Mostly they are just grateful that RENT has meant so much to so many people. They are aware of the love that is out there for Jonathan's work. Julie made a speech and thanked everyone for being there, and talked about how she knew how much this would have meant to Johnny, and that it means a lot to her that it means so much to us.
This has been probably the most emotionally intense weekend of my life. Friday night was the best night I have ever had.
I think my brain still hasn't comprehended the meaning of tonight...
