Wow.
From the first notes this orchestra just sounds GORGEOUS.
Amazingly so. This conductor James Moore appeared very young for such excellent work, assuming it was he leading the orchestra. Anybody know about how old he is?
I haven't heard a philharmonic, symphony or opera orchestra sound any better than this. I think "sublime" is the word for it.

You sure do like to make a lot of new topics....
I would guess he is early 40s...he doesn't look THAT young! He conducted the '95 Company for the Roundabout. That is his first credit on IBDB.

The sound was superb.
His connection with the orchestra was so strong.
So much talent in that pit.

A twenty-eight piece band. I sure hope they keep all the orchestra members for the entire run of the show. Hope the sales are really good so they can.
Everyone who loves music should hie them to hear it.

They won't cut the band. From this month's Allegro, the union's monthly newsletter: "The minimum number of musicians required at the Marquis is 19, but "Follies" will be coming in at 9 above that. Best of all, producers have stated that there will be no cuts list, meaning that the size of the orchestra is guaranteed to stay at 28."

I didn't think that the conductor, James Moore, seemed that young, and I was sitting pretty close. He seemed to be late 40s to me, which I don't see as being that young for what he does.
Did you see "The Scottsboro Boys"?? The conductor for that seemed very young to me (and quite talented as well)... He was very nice after the show too and signed some things for my friend who is a musician.

Fabulous news, DooWahDiddy. Thank you.
I was not close to the pit; I was mid-mezz aisle. I still think he looked young, not as a kid, but youthful and animated.
Did not see Scottsboro Boys.
