I was just curious if there was any difference crowd wise and ticket offering wise at the TKTS booth at the South Street Seaport?
They have the same tickets. It's a smaller place (like one storefront). I used to work near there and at its peak there were maybe 20 people in line though I don't know how many TKTS employees there are at each one to speed the flow of the line.
You can get tickets the day before at the South Street TKTS booth but only day of in Times Square.
The TKTS booth at the Seaport is much less crowded than the one in Times Square. Just keep in mind that if you want to get matinee tickets at the Seaport booth, you have to go the day before (night shows are day-of just like at the Times Square booth). I strongly prefer going to the Seaport booth - not only do you not have to deal with the huge crowd, but you can get tickets for that evening and the next day's matinee at the same time.

But with matinee tickets the day before, don't you have less of a selection because shows may not have released tickets by then? Don't some wait to release tickets to tkts until the day of?
That might be the case, Oasis, but if it keeps me from having to get in all that mess at the Times Square booth, I'm willing to pay that price.
Everytime I've looked (I used to work by the Seaport) there was a good selection.

I agree that the lack of crowds is great! As a matter of fact I am surprised that it hasn't caught on yet (not that I am complaining). I was just saying that I don't think the ticket offering is always the same (particularly for matinees).
where is this located exactly? tnks for the info!
