Now this is a mailer which would make me buy tickets. Forgive the glare - it's my camera.

Broadway's greatest star takes on the role she was born to play.

Is Bette Midler returning to Broadway?

Its the same as the ads everywhere.
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

The thing I liked about the mailer was the way the title had a mirror image of itself, unlike the marquee on the St. James, however, why did they have to give Lupone that hairstyle? She looks like she's still the mom on Life Goes On, and this is like the Broadway episode of that show or something.

Is she doing 8 shows a week or the "diva 6"?

Rightfully so. I just think it's funny that it looks like that's the name of the show.

That picture isn't even from this production, is it? I thought it was from Ravinia.

"Is she doing 8 shows a week or the "diva 6"?"

I would think eight. Merman, Lansbury, Daly and Peters didn't have matinee standbys. Plus Patti is a pro. She used one for Evita, but the role was so ridiculous, she really needed it. For Madame Rose? I don't think so.

re: The PATTI LuPONE GYPSY Fold-out Poster Mailer

Performers who have their name above the title don't have matinée standbys.

Performers whose names are PART OF THE TITLE should never have matinée standbys.

"I like her, but how did she become Broadway's greatest star?"

You know the Bernadette fans are not going to be pleased.

When I saw the show at City Center and first got my Playbill and looked at the cover I thought, you know people who have no clue what this show is will think it's called LUPONE GYPSY not GYPSY. I think it's a little less part of the title now than it was at City Center. I wish they would have used the City Center logo. It was fabulous.

Maybe, Patti The Greatest Star of Broadway should join Rent, The Classic Musical.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Wonderful idea! in a few years, john doyle could direct and orchestrate the revival, in full actor muso fashion, with patti playing the part of Mimi. :P I can imagine how far her mouth would go to the side in "oouuOOOOOOOTTTTTTTT tonight!" :P. Oh dear. I've set myself on a train of imagining john doyle actor muso versions of musicals with patti in the lead role. I can't wait to see "PATTI LUPONE HAIRSPRAY" directed by doyle. :P Or better yet! an ultra minimalist actor muso "A Chorus Line" with Patti as Cassie. Those dance breaks would be a bitch.

sort of off topic, but I saw her recently at a concert (she did a guest appearance in Family Guy's Seth Mcfarlane and Alex Borstein's concert for the writer's strike) and she looked amazing!
