I wanted to start a new thread, because the other thread about it's filled with negativity and I really enjoyed this show. I liked the book by Iris Dart, the music by Stoller & Butler, the orchestration, direction, the dancing, etc.
I guess the fact that I'm Jewish and come from a crazy family with a lot of people that dissappeared during the war made it easier for me the relate to the characters.
The entire cast was brilliant, Alexander Gemignani stood out to me the most, and also the former Mad TV cast member Nicole Parker. I had no idea she could sing like that and that she played Elphaba in Wicked. Loved her performance. It was also nice to see that sexy doctor from N2N again. Donna Murphy was very enjoyable too. Who knew?

By the way, how amazing to see a musical on Broadway that wasn't a Hollywood blockbuster.
Donna will probably get a Tony nod.

You could have written this opinion in that other thread along with everyone else's opinions.
It makes it easier for people to have and to follow discussions and to see other people's input when it's all in one thread.

The stand out for me was the young girl with the tape recorder. she had a great voice and really captured the heart of the show. i thought Nicole Parkers voice was very weak... i don't see how she could have ever played elphaba. Donna Murphy was amazing, as she is in everything...Louis Hobson plays exactly the same character as Next to Normal and i found him incredibly boring. LOVED the musical staging, Andy Blankenbueler is such a genius. The score had a few gems of songs but nothing really stuck with me. Over all i liked the show a lot more than i thought and i hope others go see it!
