The Perry Awards - Honoring the Worst in Theatre

Named after Antoinette Perry, the Perry Awards honor the worst of the theatre each season. The first annual Perry Awards will be held this year. Nomination suggestions will be heard in this thread but ultimately decided by me at a later date. We will use each category that the Tonys use, except we will replace the word "best" with the word "worst," eliminating categories from the awards that generate little interest/have no point.

I'm capping the noms. at 4 per category and allowing the number to go below that if necessary. "Worst Revival of a Musical" will most likely not run this year.

Submit your fill list of noms, I will soon. After noms are decided and officially posted, voting can begin. The nom. process is not majority rules, but may be tweaked as necessary. Once the noms are decided and the voting begins, most votes wins, or loses (depending how you look at it.)

Enjoy! I'll be back soon with my nom ideas.

You mean these aren't named the Taymor Awards?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Crap - I may need to change that!!
However, Spider-man: TOTD is not eligible for consideration of this high honor this year, so the awards may be renamed next season.

Ok, that is hilarious.

I think this will be a better Perry awards. Perhaps just another reason to change the name to the Taymor awards next year. :)

How is this racist, rude, or anti-semitic?
I'm Jewish, in case you're wondering. Don't think I've ever been called anti-semitic before, that's a new one. I saw the People in the Picture and didn't like it...sorry.
How is this racist??
And lastly, how is it rude? Have you heard of the Razzies?http://www.razzies.com/?? Same concept. Everyone deserves some sort of recognition.

What's an inside joke? (the racism thing?)
And fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion.

Sweet.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
