I had the pleasure of seeing The Pillowman at the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia last night.
I saw the Broadway production 2 times and loved it immensely.
This production at the Wilma is first rate. The acting is excellent and the set design is great.
If you are in Philly go. It was very crowded last night, which is great.
I saw it last Friday (sold out show - good for them!) and loved it. I never got to see the Broadway production so I can't compare the two, but on its own it was an excellent experience. It's running until November 5, so there's still time to check it out.
By the way, thanks for posting this. I've been digging around in the old posts to read people's reactions and felt like I was in a time warp, so I didn't want to bump up an ancient thread just to say "Yeah! I agree!" *sigh* The one problem with regional theatre...
Of course I'll have to wait until the Merriam does Doubt in May to understand what most of the old Pillowman threads were really about.

Good for Philly and the Wilma. If this production is even close to the quality of the Broadway production, Philladelphians (???) are in for a real treat.

Rats!I had this on my schedule to cover, but I can't fit it in!Wilma does some great things. I hope this proves to be an outstanding show for their season. Go. Please!
Just saw, for those in the Philly area, that they're having a special screening of Six Shooter with the performance of The Pillowman on Halloween.
Saw it in previews about two weeks ago - and wow, what a fantastic production. (First time seeing "The Pillowman") I hope it's remembered come Barrymore time next year.
