"The Proposal/The Night Was Alive" from TITANIC#1

This song, from TITANIC, is, in my opinion, one of the most gorgeous duets ever written for two men. Brian d'Arcy James and Martin Moran sing beautifully and their characters shine through so well. It still gives me the chills listening to it to this day.

I agree as well. It is the highlight of the cast recording.

I don't care for much of the recording, but love this song. Brian is amazing.

That was one of my favorite songs when we did the show. I also loved "Lady's Maid", the opening, and the "Lifeboats" song.

We did this for a review I was in this summer. The boy playing the telegraph man was "tapping" on something that looked suspiciously like a computer keyboard. re: 'The Proposal/The Night Was Alive' from TITANIC

I love this song. It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's been stuck in my head for a month or two, now...ahhh, Martin Moran, I love you.

For a performance company class my senior year in college, the professor had us break into groups and choose a scene from a musical or an opera to stage and then perform them for class for our final grade. I chose to do this scene from Titanic and it turned out to be the class favorite. I played Barrett and I friend of mine played Bride. My voice professor was so impressed that we were asked to perform it several more times at other functions.

Definitely my favorite song in that score, and one of my favorite showtunes. It's the song that made me a life-long fan of Brian d'Arcy James. His voice is just gorgeous.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

I think I'm the only one who loves the cast recording, has TITANIC as their favorite show, but still thinks this one song is awful.

I was just listening to this gorgeous song. I'm so glad that both Martin Moran and Brian d'Arcy James are back on Broadway -- in SPAMALOT and THE APPLE TREE, respectively. I'd love to hear the two of them perform this song in a concert some day. It is so beautiful. re: 'The Proposal/The Night Was Alive' from TITANIC
