Did anyone ever see Al Pacino in the Brecht play The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui? I did, and I loved it. What did you all think about the play?

Al Pacino's best stage work, in my opinion.

He was great in it, but I'm still blown away by his Teach in "American Buffalo" back in the 80s.

Good point. That was a fierce performance.

I wish this had come to Broadway instead of SALOME: THE READING.

Where's Mabel? She interned on Arturo Ui, and I'm insanely jealous of her because of all the amazing actors that were a part of it.

Hey all! Yeah, I was lucky enough to intern (and usher for) Ui. It was absolutely amazing! I really miss that show. The cast (from top to bottom) as well as Simon McBurney's direction were simply remarkable! It was an honor to "work" with such talented people for a couple of months...it was more like gawk and observe giddily. I saw the show 6 or so times from inside the theatre and would watch most other nights from the cracks in the doors in the lobby, where I would get my daily "Hey, how's it going?" from Ajay Naidu, my "Door Four Pal"! Yep, twas great. Made uncomfortably long eye contact w/ Pacino, got to watch a dress rehearsal from the wings, and just had an all around amazing three months!!!

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
