It's on right now....I started watching a little into it and I have no clue what's going on...it's definitely hard to understand...but it looks and sounds pretty! lol... anything with audra and patti i will watch
It helped me to watch the performance with closed captions on, even though they were singing in English, just cause I was worried I might miss some of the plot.
And then I realized that the plot really did confuse me for a while, so I whipped out my iPhone, and followed along with wikipedia each of the scene sumaries (wikipedia also did have history and essays (though, written by who knows) that helped me understand some of the background and political stuff happening). After that, I enjoyed everything that much more.
I really loved Audra's delivery of "Alabama Song". I should get it recorded onto my iPod somethime.

Yeah, I Wikiepedia-ed a synopsis too, but I was still confused. Did they do it in Three acts? I only remember them taking one commercial break between Act I and Act II. Also, I didn't realize that there were no gallows.
I think that PBS just chose not to do a break between act II and III, as there was some major costume and wig changes for LuPone between the two.
I don't know about the gallows though. Wouldn't it be a little excessive to give the guy leathal injection, and then hang him?

oh, no I didn't mean that. I meant, in the synopsis it said he was suppose to get hung, but I suppose they went for the lethal injection. I prefer the gallows though. I think it's more theatrical and visual.
