It's already 10 minutes in, but there is a My Fair Lady themed episode of The Simpsons on now. They just had Groundskeeper Willie singing "Wouldn't it be Adequete?"

The Simpsons is my favorite TV show but that episode was only a bit better than the DREADFUL Evita parody they did. And only because of Charity Titters.
Not related but do any of you remember the episode of Family Guy that sings "I had a dream . . . . I dreamed it for you Meg Griffin!"

Or what about the Simpsons episode that had:
"If you wish to be our sitter,
Please be sweet and never bitter.
Help us with math and book reports...
Might I add: EAT MY SHORTS!!"

Did the My Fair Lady parody include Lord Daftwager - from a previous visit to London?
I liked the Evita parody and the Mary Poppins (Sharry Bobbins) parody.

Sadly, no Lord Daftwager, but Jimbo bet Kearney he couldn't go around the world in 80 days. Dolph was witness, and Kearney was last seen flying off in a balloon shouting "To Istanbul!"
Not a bad episode, I felt. A lot funnier then it has bee. That subplot with Homer's pants was horrible. A good subplot should relate to the main plot, and that's something the Simpsons have a LOT of trouble with lately. Maybe they should switch to half-length episodes and show them two at a time.
Sounds mildly amusing, wish I had seen it.
I'm still waiting for Stewie Griffin's rendition of "Losing My Mind".

What I'm still waiting for is the cast of Family Guy singing their own respective version of "It Sucks To Be Me."
Would that be cool?

Not really. They'd just do it exactly the same as the stage version without changing a thing or adding any new jokes, then do something unfunny for two minutes straight, hoping that it will thus become funny, and also using this to cover the fact that the content of their show can't fill 20 minutes anymore.
Family Guy sucks now.

Family Guy did a pretty big MFL parody where Stewie taught a little Cockney girl to speak properly. Instead of "The Rain in Spain" it was "The life of the wife is ended by the knife".

You think they're going to sing the same lyrics as Rod, Nicky, Gary, Kate, Brian, or Christmas Eve? They have different character backgrounds. They're going to have to change the lyrics for their characters. Think about it for a second.
And by the way, they cut out a sequence from an episode in which they sing a NEW version of "The Telephone Hour" from Bye Bye Birdie, after Joe Swanson has just found out that Peter is mentally retarded. They only did like 30 seconds of it. It's on the DVD.
Don't forget the Monorail episode or "Planet of the Apes: The Musical" starring Troy McClure!
"Yes you finally made a monkey out of me!!!"
I loved the Sherrie Bobbins episode!
"Can I be a boozehound?"
"Not 'til you're fifteen."

Okay, so you had to lead me to this one:
"OH, STREETCAR!"
Based on "A Streetcar Named Desire".
"Long before the Superdome
Where the Saints of football play
Lived a city that the damned call home
Hear their hellish rondelet..."

I can't help but think that they ripped Family Guy off. They did the same thing, only more funny.

==================
Well, that's what I hate about Family Guy. Their characters don't really exist, they're just blank templates to put jokes on top of. The jokes don't have to be appropriate to plot or character, and often bring the show to a grinding halt. This style used to work for them, but now the show's just painful.
And as far as changing the lyrics, sure they did that for "Telephone Hour" and the Annie bit, but they didn't for "Somewhere That's Green" and "So Long, Farewell" and "Shipoopi" and "Rocketman" and "Peanut Butter Jelly Time"... etcetera etcetera.

Well, they DID however change some of the lyrics in "Somewhere That's Green," and the music for the "Annie" bit is completely original.
