Hello Everybody,

I just recently found out that the 2016 revival of Falsettos has a strong teenage "stan" following.  I was wondering because they thought the show is on the same level as Mean Girls or Dear Evan Hansen or was because they loved Andrew Rannells, Christian Borle and, the rest of the cast.  Based on the limited fan post I've seen is talking about how great the actors are at being gay, jerks, neurotic and not on how great the show is.

I was a hardcore "teen stan" last summer. I enjoyed listening to the cast album, which led me to watch the proshot and absolutely falling in love with the show, characters, and the actors who portrayed those characters. I wouldn't call it "relatable" to me, a straight, 16 year old female, but the casting was phenomenal and I really felt the characters emotions. Social media obviously helped spread the show, and that's where the fan base grew. There's a social media fanbase for everything - I have unfortunately even come across some Cats fanart that I don't think I ever want to see again lol

Unfortunately, there are other "rabid teen stans" who fetishize the relationships in the show and think that they also cross over into real life. That's where the fanbase really crosses the line

On another note - I literally ran into Brandon Uranowitz at BroadwayCon and he is actually my favorite person ever

Teens, as a whole, have a tendency to look at the actor - as the delivery of the emotion and become wrapped up in that part of any show.   Rest assured that most of the fandom of any teen base is largely artificially created and most of them have never seen the shows they obsess over.

Ahhhh, youth.
