After I saw it I think it could totally work as a Little Shop-style musical. Creepiness, camp, they're actually kind of similar when you think about it. It would be so much fun and you could keep the casting pretty much the same!

ok - everyone here needs to go out RIGHT NOW and rent the original version of this movie - it is INFINITELY better and darker and creepier...and it just might make a wonderful musical if the right people got their hands on the project (I'd want Sondheim to write and Lapine to direct, of course).
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

That actually sounds like a good idea. I loved the first version of the film, the latest one, I thought was pretty bad.

Imagine and a big musical number when Glenn Close takes Nicole to there women's club where they work-out.
Hands down the New Version is better. I would see this version be a musical before I see the old one turned into a musical.
I see a TONY for Roger Bart.

I like the movie and if there was a stage version I'd switch Nicole Kidman with Kristin Chenoweth..but I think that it could be awkward with songs..like what would they sing about..It might be too over the top with Roger singing, trust me I love him, but it would be just like Carmen Ghia thrown into another show...I'd love to see a staged version only with do-able music.
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

I just want to see Roger Bart in another musical. So yes, if it gets Roger onstage, let's have a Stepford Wives musical. I need to go watch Roger in Stepford Wives for the billionth time, if you'll excuse me.

The Music would be do-able believe me on that one. There would be huge ensemble songs. Kristen Chenoweth would be GREAT or even Idina would work, I would see it either way.
