I just finished watching the movie and it was funny, what if this was a musical with the cast from the movie? They would all be great since most are no strangers to the stage.

The best part is the book club scene.... OMG! I almost died laughing...
And Bette Midler in those antlers?!
I would see it
Roger Bart in that role had me laughing so hard....imagine him in that role with a song. Bette Midler she was funny too,
ClumsyDude, we agree too much
I'll go for it ONLY if Roger does it. It just doesnt work without dearest Roger Bart
After I saw it I think it could totally work as a Little Shop-style musical. Creepiness, camp, they're actually kind of similar when you think about it. It would be so much fun and you could keep the casting pretty much the same!

"Why dont I just spell out BIG JEW on my front lawn"
"They're coming!"
"The MENFOLK!"
I LOVE WHEN HE SAYS THAT LINE its too funny!
ok - everyone here needs to go out RIGHT NOW and rent the original version of this movie - it is INFINITELY better and darker and creepier...and it just might make a wonderful musical if the right people got their hands on the project (I'd want Sondheim to write and Lapine to direct, of course).
redhot- I havent seen the original...can Roger Bart still do it?

That actually sounds like a good idea. I loved the first version of the film, the latest one, I thought was pretty bad.

Ah come on ShuQ... dont you love camp?! Camp is the best thing in the world... I mean did you love Buffy The Vampire Slayer the tv show... now that was a gr8 show just as Stepford Wifes 2 is a good movie!
Imagine and a big musical number when Glenn Close takes Nicole to there women's club where they work-out.
Hands down the New Version is better. I would see this version be a musical before I see the old one turned into a musical.
I see a TONY for Roger Bart.
I like the movie and if there was a stage version I'd switch Nicole Kidman with Kristin Chenoweth..but I think that it could be awkward with songs..like what would they sing about..It might be too over the top with Roger singing, trust me I love him, but it would be just like Carmen Ghia thrown into another show...I'd love to see a staged version only with do-able music.

I just want to see Roger Bart in another musical. So yes, if it gets Roger onstage, let's have a Stepford Wives musical. I need to go watch Roger in Stepford Wives for the billionth time, if you'll excuse me.
The Music would be do-able believe me on that one. There would be huge ensemble songs. Kristen Chenoweth would be GREAT or even Idina would work, I would see it either way.
