Does anyone think this has a chance on Broadway? I've seen it in different stages of development and I like it.
I really think the time is past for this type of musical.
Why?
well it is headed to broadway in 2006. it was announced some time ago
What for? I saw some early readings as well and it was very "been there seen that". No new ground was covered and the songs, if they're the same, were very trite .

I disagree. I love what I've heard from this show and I can't wait to get a chance to see it. where's gunn??? he could back me up...
I absolutely love the music of this show, and am very excited about finally getting to see this show. I know I will personally be bringing many people to see it, as i have gotten my friends excited as well!
I keep thinking back to a notorious flop musical version of this book produced in London in the 60s. The magazine Plays and Players wrote a review describing a second act opener for Madame DeFarge and the peasant women called "The Knitting Song" which was said to bear a startling resemblance to "Racing With The Clock" from THE PAJAMA GAME. Charles Darnay and Sydney Carton were played by Kevin Colson and Edward Woodward who looked nothing like each other, even though there was a song lyric that insisted "They absolutely, definitely, POSITIVELY look the same!". The French Revolution was described as much running around in different directions with people waving pitchforks...

I imagine it'd make a great show. I loved the book.
