The Time Machine Musical/Stephen Schwartz

In reference to an earlier thread about H. G. Well's The Time Machine being produced as a new musical for Broadway, I have confirmation from Michael Cole of Stephen Schwartz's office that Mr. Schwartz is not the composer or lyric writer for this show nor was Matthew Morrison asked by Mr. Schwartz to play the male lead. I have read no other report that there is such a project in the works. I believe MGM holds the rights to the 1960 screenplay/movie but whether or not the actual novel rights are now public domain or still under copyright, I do not know. This is all of the information I was able to find. If someone has additional information, post it and give your sources.
