While it's not the same as the violent tragedy in Orlando that claimed so many young lives, my grandmother passed away at age 93 on Friday and I know the one thing I was looking forward to amidst the stress and sorrow of last week was sitting and watching the Tony Awards. Just as going to the theatre is the best medicine when I need a pick me up, that show perked me up when I was feeling that loss along with the sorrow for 49 beautiful lives taken too soon.

Art heals.

I am really, REALLY, surprised that there is not more of a response or reaction, to the tragedy in Orlando, especially here, where I would think a reaction would be rather swift. BWW has not even expressed any real attention to it. I'd think there might be some compassion expressed.

Please read the article PJ posted. So many lives of all kinds, but mostly all gay, targeted for being just that, gay. The Tony Awards did acknowledge this, why can't we?
