Hey guys! I saw that The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown will be playing at Goodspeed. I looked up some of the music on YouTube and it has a pretty good score (Freedom and Run Away with Me). Am I the only person who could see this show do well on Broadway? I think it can get a great audience. I would love for the production to transfer! So what do you think?
When I saw it few years ago in Orange County, I saw potential in the show. I doubt it would do terribly well on Broadway; but with the score becoming pretty standard, I can see it having a decent off-Broadway run.
I'm seeing it August 6th. I've been listening to the demos for years (since 2006) so I'm really excited to see this play out on stage! And I thought Meghann was great in Next to Normal so I think she'll be excellent as Sam. From what I know if the show from listening to the demos and reading up on it, it's not Broadway material. Off-Broadway? Sure. I think it has potential there. Broadway? No. But nevertheless I'm really excited to see something I've been waiting five years for.
I always thought it would make a great movie... maybe that's just me. Regardless, it NEEDS to open in New York eventually - the music is absolutely fabulous.
ReggieonBway- See I thought it could be a HBO mini-series! Every episode focuses on one person in Sam's life. I know, it might sound dumb but I can see it as a TV show. I really am praying it comes to NYC.
