The Untold Stories of Broadway is a new book by Jennifer Tepper. Has anyone read it and is it worth buying? I read a preview of the Kindle edition on Amazon and Michon Peacock refers to a number called "My Sister and I" in the original production of CHICAGO. Does anyone know anything about that number? Or is it just a mistake?

My Sister and I could very well have been the original/working name of the song I Can't Do It Alone

note the lyrics at the beginning are

"my sister and i had an act that couldn't flop,
my sister and i were headed straight for the top,
my sister and earned a thou a week at least, oh yea
but my sister is now unfortuntly deceased"

Thanks PlayItAgain. That makes sense.

Someone else is quoted that when they saw the original NINE Maureen McGovern was on for Liliane Montevecchi. Didn't they mean to say that McGovern was on for Karen Akers?

So far it is a good read.

I'm 2/3s of the way through the book and it's wonderful.

On Amazon, the kindle version of this book is broken into two parts. Here's a clueless, giggle-inducing review:

"In so many places in this book it is difficult to know what's going on because the title of the show they are talking about appears as the phrase [title of show]. Whether this is a font, format, or typing error, I don't think one should find this in a purchased product."

I guess reviewer Charles Peery was never a tosser.

I got them for Christmas, both volumes, and they are both awesome. Anyone who loves theater and loves juicy stories will adore these books. I hope she writes a third one.

Actually, so far, there is only one volume, which was broken up into volume one, parts one and two. There are several more volumes planned. Looks like it's grouped by theater.
