Not that it matters a lick, but I liked Travolta in the HAIRSPRAY movie. I liked all of it, actually.

I just loved how Edna looked like one of those Sumo wrestler costumes, with the matching helmet/wig.

To dispel any of these absurd assumptions that the removed footage came from an ARGENTINEAN production... here is actual footage of the Argentinean production, which is quite faithful to the original Broadway production, unlike that mess that was that clip.

These clips from Argentina are performed entirely in Castellano, which is the Spanish dialect of Argentina. Also, I believe the language spoken in that removed clip was Catalan, which sounds Italian AND Spanish. When I first heard Catalan, I couldn't make out WHAT the hell it was as it was that weird mixture of Spanish and Italian.

Gotta represent my fellow Argentines here, so here are the clips from the Argentina (Bueno Aires) cast of HAIRSPRAY. Also, Josephina Scaglione who plays Maria in the Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY originated the role of Amber in the original Buenos Aires cast of HAIRSPRAY. I'm not sure if she's in any of these clips.

Yes... the various actresses who've played Tracy are ALL real fat girls -- no one in the cast wore an inflated Sumo wrestler suit.

Also, Enrique Pinti, a very popular actor/comedian in Argentina, plays Edna. He also played Max in the Argentina production of THE PRODUCERS.

No, Holly, I was NOT talking about the production in Argentina. I am positive I read about an Italian production. I specifically remember seeing the website in Italian (and as someone who is familiar with both languages, I can tell the difference). The production featured people painted black to represent the African-American characters. In fact, here is the website:

I assume the production I am thinking of is not the same as the one Marc found on Facebook. I believe whatever I am thinking of was a full-scale production, as opposed to the YouTube video which is a summary of the show in a few minutes.
