Posted: 9/18/08 at 8:33amAre The Who themselves (such as they are at this point, with Keith and John dead) going to be involved, or is it just an OBC reunion?

Posted: 9/18/08 at 10:18amI don't know anything either, but I loved the show on bway in the mid-90s, and I am anxiously awaiting info for tickets! The link on the site says it will be updated after Sept 8, and there is still no info.

gvendo2005, The Who might be involved with this concert. They are going to be in America while this concert is going on because they are touring. So, they could come back to NYC and do something with this concert. Keep in mind that Pete Townshend who wrote all but two songs for the TOMMY album is still alive. There was one song that was credited to Keith Moon but Moon didn't write it. That song was Tommy's Holiday Camp. Moon came up with the idea. But, Townshend was worried that if Moon went off and wrote songs about holiday camps that the album would never be finished and they were pressed for time and over budget at that point as it was. So, Townshend said that he would write the song and give Moon the credit.
That is why for the musical it says music and lyrics by Pete Townshend with additional music and lyrics by Keith Moon and John Entwhislte. John wrote Cousin Kevin and Fiddle About and Moon got credit for writing Tommy's Holiday Camp despite not actually writing it.

This is going to be a fantastically bizarre flashback to my 13 year old theatergoing self.
I'm in. Does this mean... everybody from the OBC? Because I'd be super amused to see like... Sherie Rene Scott as Sally Simpson again, not going to lie.

LeaGirl, you read my mind!
I remember back after I first saw the show and listened to the cast recording with one of my friends....we listened to the "Tommy is a tranquilizer" part of "Sally Simpson" at least a hundred times. If I'm not mistaken, there are more lyrics sung ABOUT Sally Simpson than the character Sally Simpson actually sings herself.
Also, would the "original cast" include Marcia Mitzman? I remember she was in the original cast but then left early on because of something like the chemicals used in the show were giving her vocal issues? Then again, she IS on the cast recording (sorry, I'm thinking/typing outloud. It feels like forever since I've even thought of this stuff.

I really want to know what original cast entails. badly.
I mean I know ideally it means... the original cast but can they really pull that off?
And I don't know about Marcia I saw her early in the run but I know that she sort of... wasn't there anymore fairly shortly after opening. My mom said once she saw the show 6 times and Alice Ripley was on as Mrs Walker 5 of those times.

Hmmm....I didn't see Alice Ripley in the role but I'm sure she would be wonderful in the role of Mrs. Walker.
HOWEVER, I love Marcia Mitzman on the cast recording and since it seems that she didn't performin any B'way shows after Tommy (according to IBDB), I would really love to see her in the role again. Way back when, a fan created a website for Ms. Mitzman. It wasn't official but the fan did have some contact with her. Can't seem to find the website but I'll keep looking.

Don't forget another current Little Mermaid actor (besides Sherie) was in this. Norm Lewis (King Triton) played The Doctor; a small but pivotal role.
I wonder if Cerveris would be required to wear that page boy wig though?

A few years ago, I think it was Anthony Barile. the original Cousin Kevin was putting this together, when Pete Townsend had some computer problems.
It would be an amazing night!

It is announced!!

And, according to the article, ALL the cast will be there!
I'm pregnant, and.. that is my DUE DATE! Gah. I'd love to be there, though. Heh. Maybe the Little Miss will come early.
(I searched high and low for this thread so I wouldn't get "yelled" at for making a new one.. I'm glad I found it.)

As long as they don't try that asinine headphone thing they did with the run in LA this summer, I'm good. (And before anyone yells, yes, I know that was a totally different thing. I'm just saying the headphone thing is a big fat NO!)

I think that is so awesome.
Has anybody on here even SEEN Marcia Mitzman since Tommy? Because I haven't. Of course I wasn't living here some of the time between but still.
I am really excited for this.

Posted: 9/24/08 at 10:24amAccording to IMDB she did the voice of Maude Flanders for 11 episodes between 99 and 01. And she hasn't done anything in the past four years with her last gig being a stint on Bold and the Beautiful.

She is Marcia Mitzman-Gaven now, I know that.
I also know she was Mother in the Los Angeles production of Ragtime, but that was around the time of stint on The Simpsons.
I'm also quite curious what's become of her, and why she hasn't worked onstage in a long time.
