re: The Worst Acting Ever

I don't know if that is quite as bad as a performance I on stage recently. An old revival. With two screen legends. Some of the audience sat on stage. Gah.

Then, of course, there will be Travolta's take on Edna Turnblad.

Then there is Deidre Hall in every epidode of Days of our Lives EVER.

Inherit the Wind, Jersey?
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

How about waiting until you see it before you trash it? Is that too much to ask? Others who HAVE seen it have said good things about his performance.

His performance in the trailer is one of the worst things ever.

re: The Worst Acting Ever

Yep, the trailer is enough for me. And jimnysf, I know folks who said the performance as a whole is as craptacular as it is in the trailer. The three lines that I have heard from him make me want to avoid the movie. It's like a bad Mike Myers character. I personally think it was poor casting. Just my opinion.

But she gleefully admits it (as she laughs and giggles all the way to the bank, I might add).

Please. Shark Attack 3 has nothing on the plethora of gay indie films in the last 10 years. The majority of them are far worse. Musical theatre we can do. Films focusing on gay characters/culture? We are virtually clueless.

Nah, I would have to say that the worst acting ever was when my Beginning Drama class had to do Shakespearean monologues.
One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

It was awesome.

Well, face it: Noah is on Logo. Not exactly a shining beacon of great production values.

Rats, I thought this would be about Kevin Costner.

But that is exactly what the production company wants me to do. Otherwise, they wouldn't produce a trailer. They chose what they felt are the best moments in the film, to entice me to see it. They are banking on the fact that I will judge it to be great. In the case of Hairspray, I judged John Travolta to be lousy, as Edna Turnblad. That has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with John Travolta's line delivery, and the production company's choice in showing it to me.

re: The Worst Acting Ever

well said JohnBoy2 and I totally agree with you.

The trailer is meant for the audience to make a judgement on the movie. They hope your judgement is positive, though and that you will go see their film but it doesn't always work in their favor.

Personally, I have no intention of seeing this film.

I grew up in Baltimore and have long loved our original, John Waters flick and that is enough Hairspray for me.

re: The Worst Acting Ever

Ohhh snap! Noah's Arc is pretty rough. Ever seen Go Fish?

And Deidre knows she is a poor actress?? Well, lucky her. Madame Melodrama, indeed!

re: The Worst Acting Ever

Even so, Deidre is far from the worst actress to have appeared on "Days of our Lives."

Remember Austin Peck? Or the early days of Drake Hogestyn? Or old grandpa with the Irish accent that comes and goes (actually, he's probably still around)?

The early days? He's still making the same smirky face.

re: The Worst Acting Ever

Oh, I almost felt bad hating on Noah's Arc at first, because I thought "the gay black Sex and the City" (heavy on the quotes) deserved some emotional affirmative action... but then I actually watched a full episode. Ew.

Having just gone on a "source material for current Broadway shows" binge, though, I have to say the worst acting I've seen lately was Michael Beck as Sonny Malone in Xanadu. And for him to stand out in that movie, you know it was pretty darn awful.

re: The Worst Acting Ever

I love Sean Brady on Days. He reminds me of my grandfather!

And Austin Peck is HORRID. He once said in an interview that he didn't want to be famous for his looks, he wanted to be famous for his acting. Good luck with that, Austin.

The problem with Deidre is that she seems to be getting worse with age.

re: The Worst Acting Ever

I actually saw an episode the other day, and all these people who I hadn't seen in ages were back on the show.

That girl who replaced Jennifer was terrible, too, as was Mark Valley, when he was on there.
