Is the Current Tour of Miss Saigon any good?
Coz, I am interested in seeing it, when it comes to NJ, in November.
Does it do the show justice? Is it worth seeing?

I saw the show last spring and it was a different cast (except for Alan Gillespie). I wasn't huge on it. The sets and costumes were nice (the helicopter was...well...not bad considering it's a touring production). The actors were all right. I'm just not a big fan of the show itself. But if you've seen it before and you liked it, I think you'll like this production.

I saw Jennifer Paz and she was excellent...Almost compared to Lea. The music is amazing and seeing it live takes it to another degree.

I saw the Miss Saigon tour in June, and I wasn't very impressed. I mean, it was okay, but not Broadway-quality. It was a non-Equity tour, which might explain things.

Me too. I saw the show when it was on the non-Equity tour. In my opinion, it was enjoyable but it didn't blow me away. I think if you haven't seen the show or are a big fan of it, then you should go see it.

I saw the tour in March. I thought it was awesome, then again i'm easily entertained! I love the music, though. I would not mind seeing it again, and I thought the helicopter was pretty awesome--even for a projection.

how can jen. paz perform in this tour when it in on-equity and she was in the 1st broadway national tour??? i thought equity actors are not allowed to do non-equity work??? thanks :)
Considering it's a non-Equity tour, it was surprisingly good.
If I was in your position, and it was close to me... I would go see it. but then again, Miss Saigon is my fav. show. I think it would be awesome to finally see it live, because all I've ever seen are photos and listen to the music... and other random things online. But anyway, I think that it would be good to see, but I don't know how impressed I'd be... I'd be expecting Lea, not whoever took her place. Sorry if this doesn't help...

Ditto with Jon Jon Briones, the Engineer last year.
I think they have to agree to give up their equity membership, at least for hte duration of their run on the tour. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

I recently saw the Miss Saigon tour during a stop in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. I've seen it before, and have always enjoyed it. I thought Jennifer Paz was outstanding. Everytime she sang the hairs stood up on my arms. She has such a wonderful talent and gift. Johann Michael Camat, The "Engineer," was also very good. I'd say it was worth the price of admission just to hear Jennifer and Johann Michael. (and by the way - if anyone out there knows of any Jennifer Paz recordings, and how to get a hold of one, please respond!! I tried on a web site, but apparently it doesn't work anymore). Thanks, God bless, and enjoy the beautiful gifts that these performers present to us night after night.
