Tooby ooby walla, nooby abba naba, early morning singing song!" -Good Morning Starshine -HAIR - Okay so maybe they're not the greatest lyrics or most meaningful but just say the words and they'll make you smile!

"Someone tell me when is it my turn, Don't I get a dream for myself?" - Gypsy

"I dim the lights and think about you, spend sleepless nights to think about you. You said you loved me, or were you just being kind?" - Follies

"Tonight, tonight won't be just any night. Tonight there will be no morning star. - West Side Story

I can go on with Sondheim. I could get into Passions because of all the Fosca-ness, but I will spare you.

"And the world will be better for this that one man scorned and covered with stars still strove with his last ounce of courage to reach the unreachable star." -Man of LaMancha

* I love NINE Musicalmjk, I didn't have time to explain its significance either. "Unusual Way" would bring me to tears.

Mmmm, oh yes...UNUSUAL WAY is one of the best songs ever written. All the lyrics in NINE are brilliant, as is most everything in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE and FOLLIES.

i agree with so many people have said - but to add a few - sorry for any repeats

love all of mimi's part from another day

"nothing is an accident
we are free to have it all

it's in ourselves to rise or fall" - Aida

"life may be scary but it's only temporary...everything in life is only for now" - ave q

all of "fine, fine line" "for good" "i'm not that girl" "defying gravity"

"nothing lasts, nothing holds, all of me. my hearts far, far away, home and free" - Beauty and the Beast

life is a cabaret

a lot of into the woods

**EDIT** thought of some more

"if you don't like your fate change it! you are your own master, there are no shackles on you." - Aida

all of elaborate lives and the quest (the impossible dream)

sorry bklyn haters but "there's a heat behind these hands, there's a soul beneath these clothes..and i you feel the spirit move you give only what you can - and i'll sing my song good and strong. i'm gonna sing it from the heart behind these hands!"

I'm only the second vote for "Sing out, Louise" from Gypsy? Wow. My other favorite is "I'll go out and make it, or steal it, or take it, or die" from Billy's Soliloquy in Carousel.

Oh, wow. So, so many:

"And remember the truth that once was spoken: to love another person is to see the face of God!" from Les Miz gets me every time, as does "When your heart has expired," in RENT's 'I'll Cover You (Reprise.)' Then again, much of RENT leaves me either tremendously happy or crying to the stranger to my left.

"I am what I am," is definitely a very good line as is (yeah-- go on and laugh) "For happiness is anyone and anything at all that's loved by you," from 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.' And, on a Schultz theme, I'll add "If just one person believes in you... then maybe even you can believe in you too," from the very end of 'Snoopy!'

I'll shut up now. xD The sap is hurting me.

"'But do you really mean, sir,' said Peter, 'that there could be other worlds --all over the place, just round the corner-- like that?'

'Nothing is more probable,' said the Professor..."

-The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Sweeney Todd: "Yes and always arrives overdone!"

When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere

Without going any further, I have to agree with that one being really great. The greatest ever? Dunno. Broadway, not technically. Crap.
But really great. And I love it.
I'm still thinking of one.

TODD: Is it really good?
MRS. LOVETT: Sir, it's too good, At least. Then again, they don't commit sins of the flesh, So it's pretty fresh.
TODD: Awful lot of fat.
MRS. LOVETT: Only where it sat.
TODD:Haven't you got poet Or something like that?
MRS. LOVETT: No, you see the trouble with poet Is, how do you know it's Deceased? Try the priest.
TODD: Heavenly. Not as hearty as bishop, perhaps, but not as bland as curate, either.
MRS. LOVETT: And good for business — always leaves you wanting more. Trouble is, we only get it in Sundays . . .
Lawyer's rather nice.
TODD: If it's for a price.
MRS. LOVETT: Order something else, though, to follow, Since no one should swallow It twice.
TODD: Anything that's lean.
MRS. LOVETT: Well, then, if you're British and loyal, You might enjoy Royal Marine. Anyway, it's clean. Though, of course, it tastes of wherever it's been.
TODD:Is that squire On the fire?
MRS. LOVETT: Mercy no, sir, Look closer, You'll notice it's grocer.
TODD: Looks thicker. More like vicar.
MRS. LOVETT: No, it has to be grocer — it's green.
TODD: The history of the world, my love —
MRS. LOVETT: Save a lot of graves, Do a lot of relatives favors ...
TODD:— is those below serving those up above.
MRS. LOVETT:Everybody shaves, So there should be plenty of flavors ...
TODD: How gratifying for once to know —
BOTH:— that those above will serve those down below!
MRS. LOVETT: Now, let's see ... We've got tinker ...
TODD (Looking at it): Something pinker.
MRS. LOVETT: Tailor?
TODD: Paler.
MRS. LOVETT: Butler?
TODD: Something Subtler.
MRS. LOVETT: Potter?
TODD (Feeling it): Hotter.
MRS. LOVETT: Locksmith?

TODD: Have you any Beable?
MRS. LOVETT: Next week, so I'm told. Beadle isn't bad till you smell it And notice how well it's Been greased. Stick to priest.
Now this may be a bit stringy, but then, of course, it's fiddle player.
TODD: This isn't Fiddle player. It's piccolo player.
MRS. LOVETT: How can you tell?
TODD: It's piping hot.
MRS. LOVETT: Then blow on it first.
TODD:The history of the world, my sweet —
MRS. LOVETT:Oh, Mr. Todd, Ooh, Mr. Todd, What does it tell?
TODD: — is who gets eaten and who gets to eat.
MRS. LOVETT:And, Mr. Todd, Too, Mr. Todd, Who gets to sell.
TODD: But fortunately, it's also clear —
TODD: MRS. LOVETT: That everybody But everybody Goes down well with beer.
MRS. LOVETT: Since marine doesn't appeal to you, how about rear admiral?
TODD: Too salty. I prefer general.
MRS. LOVETT: With or without his privates? "With" is extra.
TODD: What is that?
MRS. LOVETT: It's fop. Finest in the shop. Or we have some shepherd's pie peppered With actual shepherd On top. And I've just begun. Here's the politician — so oily It's served with a doily —Have one.

TODD: No, the clergy is really Too coarse and too mealy.
MRS. LOVETT: Then actor — That's compacter.

A few of my favorites:

"Manipulating our judicial system to win a contest is un-American!"-Hairspray.

"Let me guess! You got tied up!"
"No, just handcuffed a little."-Little Shop of Horrors.

And I know this is a bit self-serving, but...
"Shut up! I know what you're saying! She says 'pipe dreams' 50 300 times, you repeat yourself endlessly! It's lifelike, granted one could hear it on a bus if you were listening to a stupid person talking on and on! But I am on a streetcar, not a bus! And I want poetry, and art and music, and if I can't have that, I'd rather be dead!!!"-Desire, Desire, Desire.
