The worst Tony Winning Performance You Have Seen

Posted: 4/15/08 at 12:34pmI thought we were only talking about performances. But in that case, I do agree with SPRING AWAKENING's choreography.

Posted: 4/15/08 at 12:49pmChoreography was the only Tony I thought Spring Awakening deserved. It was organic, emotional and served both the show and its concept very well. The choreography for Curtains was good, but I felt the choreography for Spring Awakening had a more creative edge.

Marissa Jaret Winokur [ hairspray - you can't stop the beat]
The excuse is always:she had to dance and sing at the same time. I think its rubbish. Her vocal performance was just not up to scratch with the rest of the cast.

What are you talking about? Are you talking about the Tony performance, specifically?
If so, then I agree...but that's not what this thread is asking.
If not, then I disagree with you wholeheartedly. While I feel that Bernadette Peters should have won that year, Winokur gave a flawless performance. She had no problem singing while dancing during the several times that I saw her.

Posted: 4/15/08 at 2:59pmWhile it was far from a bad performance, I'd say the same about Ebersole's surrealistically over-rated work in GREY GARDENS. Entirely adequate in every way, nothing even remotely special.
