Okay I would have to say that there are two people who stand out to me....One of them of course is David Hasselhoff in J&H.......i really thougth he was just wrong for that part. And the other one is James Carpinello (I hope I spelled his last name right) as Tony in Saturday Night Fever. I thought he was just to stiff to play a person who is supposed to be a great dancer.......jmo
Tom Cavenaugh in Urinetown. Whenever he held a note, it sounded like a lamb was singing.

Marcus Lovett as The Phantom of the Opera, one of my worst evenings in the theater, really, really bad. No grasp of the command and depth needed to play the role. Sadly Hugh Panaro the current Phantom is not much better. And a special "shout out" for the late, great Peter Allen as Legs Diamond, whew! What a stinker. And while I am a big fan of Andrea McArdle she was down right scary in State Fair.
And yet, and yet...
In the readings, James Carpinello was a wonderful Link in Hairspray. Effortlessly sexy, with a slight camp edge. Saturday Night Fever may just have been beyond his abilities (and probably should have come to these shores only with Adam Garcia who was a bit of a phenom in London).
{Listen to Lea Salonga for the only version of "On My Own" that is well sung.}
Sutton sings the hell out of "On My Own" as well.
dancindeeva...
Is Sutton's version available on CD anywhere?
I'd love to hear it.

Sutton's old official site has a recording of her singing it from when she was on the tour.
There is also some stuff from when she played Sandy in Grease!
