Hi all!!
I'm wondering what the bag policies are at the Imperial and the Eugene O'Neill Theaters and if either have coat checks? I'm planning on having a small backpack with me since I'll be sightseeing before the shows.
Thank you!

I use a backpack all the time. They'll peek into it but you can take it into the theater with you and state it under your seat.
Most theaters don't employ coat check in the summer months. But, Dolly is correct...as long as it isn't hiking size, you can have it at ypur seat. I almost always have one with me.
So PThespian, does that mean there's definitely a coat check at the Shubert? I'm seeing DOLLY fresh off the bus in a few weeks and will have my huge backpack that acts as my suitcase with me.

I'm finding that the staff at the Shubert is very friendly and helpful. (The men in the box office call me by my first name nowadays!)

Why don't you call the theaters beforehand?

Good suggestion! I did try to do this the other day; the issue is a lot of theaters don't have direct numbers. The number they generally list is for TicketMaster or a other ticket company.

Do a Google search forvthe actual theater and the box office number comes up. They're all area code 212.
I got such a shocked reaction when I called the Belasco to see if they had a coat check, the person could not imagine why I would be trying to call the theatre directly lol! I didn't think it was that uncommon of an occurrence.
Yes and I thank you for that haha. This was months ago before this thread existed. And he seemed like a really nice guy!

There are coat checks available year round at Shunert houses. Just ask at the bar.
Although Comet is unique so all bets are off there."
Comet coat Check is upstairs, by the men's bathroom (as I recall). No idea if it will be open in the summer, but Thespian seems to think so....
