Do NOT just summarize the plot. Represent it as fit for the points you make and contextual necessity. NO SPOILERS PLEASE.
DO enjoy the show or at least try to as a paying audience member. A large part of your job is to translate your experience to words through which the readers can get an idea whether they would enjoy see show themselves.
Do NOT be afraid to praise what you love about the show nor shy away from discussing the flaws, however small or big they are. Be honest and descriptive about what you REALLY feel about the show.
DO request review kits if available, as they can help you understand the context better and have a clearer picture of what the production is aiming for and whether it succeeds or fails to achieve the goal.
Do NOT pepper your article with jargon or cant words that might look smart but in reality hinders your communication with your readers. In rare cases where they are necessary, explain them in plain words or make sure their meanings are easily deducible in context.
DO analyze symbols and themes. What sets theater apart from movie and tv is that it is a lot more "dream-like" and rich in symbolism or euphemism; yet such abstractness is deeply grounded in humanity and reality.
