So I am a teacher and eligible for a tdf membership. I am coming to NYC in the spring for a broadway trip. Does anyone know if a membership would be worth it for the ticket discounts? Thanks

The discounts are substantial but don't expect to see the hot shows on there. There's lots of off Broadway and off off Broadway if you're adventurous.

I think it depends on when in the spring you are coming to New York and what shows you are looking to see. The discounts are great but like jbird5 said there are a lot of off Broadway and off off Broadway shows available. What shows are you looking to see?
Sometimes the TDF membership websites surprise me and they do put certain Broadway shows up.

If you live over 100 miles away from the city, you're eligible for a discounted membership rate of $12. Seeing at least one show through TDF should justify the expense of joining. However, it really depends on what shows you're hoping to see given that TDF's selection is never a guarantee. If you have your heart set on just a few in particular, this may not be the best source of tickets for you.

If you're coming during spring break, there will probably be fewer shows available on TDF because it tends to be a busy time for tourism. Membership is only $30, though, so even if you see only one or two shows, it's worth it. Plus, you can buy up to nine tickets per show!
