Was just looking at some of the choices and is there a reason there is no nomination to choose for Hamilton for Best Book of a Musical?

The nominations were compiled based on a separate round of voting, so they were also chosen by audience voters. Maybe it didn't get as many votes because people assumed everyone else would vote for it. Or maybe it's the classic misconception that sung-through musicals "don't have a book," which of course is entirely false, but sadly something that many people continue to not understand.

I didn't look too closely but wonder if it is the only Tony Award winner for Best Book that didn't make the cut. As it is a popularity vote that is the only reason I can see Moulin Rouge even being nominated for its Book.
Like Moulin Rouge but the book has to be the weakest part of the production.

These nominees definitely make you wonder about some of the folks who vote. Tootsie and Memphis both didn't make Best Book either, even though they won Tonys. No War Horse, Curious Incident or Harry Potter for Direction of a Play, even though all 3 won. Really every category seems a little strange.
