Theatre Set/Equipment Hire

Right, i am currently in the EARLY stages of organising a local Am Dram musical, and for the initial plans we need set ideas, pricing etc. and one of the key things I need for this show to work, as we have a VERY limited performance space (A stage in a local village hall) is two Scrim Curtains (That is right isn't it, Scrim?) and I need to find somewhere, preferbally local to me (So Southampton, Bournemouth area, Portsmouth at a stretch!) where I can hire them, We have curtain tracks and everything so it's just two curtains with ties at the top!

Can anyone be of any assistance?

Scrim ... as in a sharkstooth gauze?

Try "Leisure Light and Sound" - http://www.lls-online.net. We use them at school for hiring production equipment ... they're based in Wimborne.

At the moment we are just trying to get rough numbers so we know what sort of budget would be required!
Cause believe me, i'f IM doing a show, i'm going ALL OUT!

Well, actually, the current plans are to do my ALL TIME favourite musical, Tick... Tick... BOOM! It's been a dream of mine for years to organize a production, and it looks like it will finally happen, however if they decide not to fund it, I will have to wait until NEXT summer (OH GOD) and fund it myself! Which would be better cause i could do it EXACTLY how I want it, and i could, within reason, have an open ended budget, because I wouldnt be doing it to make money, or even get my money back, just to have a GREAT experience!

But that aint a bad Idea SADM, do you know if you can get licence rights for Rent Remixed, I COULD do that? hmmmm

And I know the original plans, when we first discussed this a few months back now, (coincidentally, about a month before the announcement of the London Production next month) was that it would be mainly directed by Musical-Matt, I would play Jon, and Benny123 (although it was just an idea) would be Mike! But who knows what will happen?

Maybe Mama could come down and play Susan!

oh i was close, Rent and Tick Tick Boom are by the same person (though Rent Remixed was by an odd alien life form)
