Nick Cordero is not making his Broadway debut (http://www.playbillvault.com/Person/Detail/123638/Nick-Cordero) but is a winner. Congrats to him, but I'm confused about the rules, then.

I didn't think it had to be a debut, just thought it could only be once by a person for a standout performance. Some pretty good picks this year. I'm probably in the minority, but I'm happy to see Zachary Levi get some recognition.

It specifically says debut in the article which is why I'm asking. Yes, Levi was great. Perfect chance for him to get recognized.
Technically, Cordero was a replacement for Rock of Ages and hasn't been reviewed for his "official" debut. Well deserved accolade for his turn in Bullets Over Broadway.
Most well-rounded, fully-realized featured character and featured actor performance on Broadway this season.
Being a replacement doesn't disqualify you, nor do small ensemble roles. I think it has to be a "reviewable" role (one that is big enough to be mentioned in reviews).
What I said.
