I had tickets to this show a month and a half ago. My friend went, but my buses never showed up, and I couldn’t get to the theatre. I was devastated. My friend gave me the past-date info, and I filled it out explaining the situation. Never heard back. The show clearly hasn’t sold well, so it’s not like they didn’t have a seat to give me, and you’d think they would’ve wanted an extra body in their audience. Finally saw it, and it’s excellent. You may have to be Jewish to fully get all the nuances of the characters, but maybe I’m wrong. Beautifully written with humor, compassion, and insight from all sides of the argument. This one will stay with me for a while.

Enjoyed this overall. The show is definitely too Hamilton-sounding, but it’s like Operation Mincemeat in that it sounds too similar to Hamilton, but it’s also very good music. I just think that’s how shows sound today in general. They either sound like Hamilton or a have a generic indie pop sound. Wish they came up with their own sound or reflected the sound of the time period they were coming from. For example, I saw A Walk on the Moon, which should have a 60s sound to its music. Call me crazy because this is obviously just a theory, but I remember Groff saying he had an idea to reunite with Lea for their friendship anniversary. Could this be it? Groff obviously is in Stratford until the beginning of November, but after? SO says it’s star-studded, but maybe the stars are the parents and the kids will be newbies (which is really the way this show should be).

Also have tickets for July 22nd and didn’t get a cancellation email.

IMHO, Cats deserves revival and Ragtime can go its leads. What Cats does with that show literally revives it.
