THE HEART previews (Off-Broadway)

Beautiful evening. Christopher Ashely came out to introduce the evening’s events since it’s his first time at Roundabout. Some interesting tonal shifts inside a heavy plot, but the music is really the star here. Most tuneful songs I’ve heard in a while. Cast was great.

I also agree that it’s disappointing. Maybe Rhinoceros is great, but I wanted a musical.

It’s genuinely weird that they haven’t announced and it’s so soon. My friend wants to buy tickets if Jeremy is staying, but is he? It’s bad enough that the ladies coming in are less than ideal singers. Keep the lead solid.

THE IMAGINARY INVALID Previews

Definitely enjoyed this. The opening with the set coming together made me smile hard. All the players were great, but Rachel Bloom just doesn’t do it for me. And seemingly, while she did get a big applause during curtain calls, she didn’t do it for the audience either because she had a big chaotic moment which should fully yield an applause when she exits, but it got a sad clap from about three audience members. It was so obviously awkward that Bill Irwin indicated to the audience that they s...

This will also be my last year with TDF. Very limited selections and higher prices aren’t worth it.

I’d say if you only saw his first bow, I get it, but he really has grown into this role that’s very different for him, and I’d say he’s better now by leaps and bounds.

I don’t care what it is as long as the man finally makes his NY stage debut.

How did The Lost Boys lose to Schmigadoon??

Aug 30, 2026 — 8:55:12 AM

How did anything lose to Schmigadoon??? Yes, it was a weak year, but that show is so subpar. Should’ve been Two Strangers. At least that was original.

Rosie on Kimmel’s Broadway Lineup!

I agree that the monologue was weak. She has so much she could’ve said, and she said nothing. A big “eh.”

Re: The Festival

They were trying to make it a Woodstock-like event, so the upstate vibes fit more. It def wasn’t Woodstock, and I do think they should switch to a venue with actual parking, but it was pretty on the water and outdoors.

I was there on Friday and I do agree that things were more organized than I expected considering it’s the first iteration. I still believe tickets were too expensive even with single day tickets available because they nickel and dimed everything. A parking pass was an insane amount of money and the shuttle (which was organized on the way there and more disorganized on the way back) was even too pricey. I paid $24 for six just okay dumplings since there were only a few food options and everyth...

THE FANTASTICKS revival, reimagined as a gay love story, aiming for Broadwa

Yes, it’s a subscription house, but they still need to sell tickets. The rest of their season isn’t doing it for me, so maybe this one could? If there are no recognizable names (Broadway or o...
