What are the Best Shows that can be done With a community theatre? I know many factors contribute to how this can be decided. Here are Ours:
1)We have only a 15 Thousand Budget.
2)There is alot of talent. We have teens that can go up to a HIGH "F". (she is the daughter of a music major). and Extremely greta actors/actresess. So talent isn't problem. Especially with Males.
3) The only other factor would be dance, we have Greta dancers but not enough dancers whom can also sing.

Any suggestions?

Well, I know community theatre!

Once On This Island - Great parts for the whole cast, Unit set, simple costumes and props, dynamic show. The hardest part is probably the band. But, it's a great show.

What about Barnum........I've seen a school group do this previously, a lot of fun for all and that really good female soprano you have could be the Swedish Nightingale.

BABES IN ARMS

Lots of kids, singing and dancing do not have to be done by the same kids, great score, pretty evenly divided roles...

By the way, Jeff, it would have been helpful if you had posted all those shows that your theatre had already done in your first post.

Good luck, whatever you choose.

PEACE.

What about Merrily We Roll Along? You could use the original concept of using young people and there are terrific roles in it for a wide variety of types.

What about Grease? (I know the rights to that are expensive but it seems like it'd be fun!)
