Jason Zinoman's review of the Star Wars One Man Trilogy:

"Lanky, blond and dressed entirely in black, Mr. Ross - who reportedly has a girlfriend, although she may be the victim of a Jedi mind trick - looks a little like Luke Skywalker in "Return of the Jedi.""

After reading this review I was relieved to scroll up and find that it wasn't written by Brantley or Isherwood. Forget whether he did or didn't like the show; why in the world should a New York Times reviewer attack an unknown actor's personal life?

I've been trying to figure out if the line is a gay dig or a he's-so-geeky-he-must-be-lying-about-the-girlfriend dig. Either way...it is kinda funny.

I think it's about his geekiness. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette said something about this morning in their flash! section that said:

"Finally, another outlet for sci-fi geeks: the theatre. Charles Ross re-creates the three original "Star Wars" films in his off-Broadway play "One-man Star Wars Trilogy." Yes, the man who admits to seeing the first film in the series at least 400 times plays all the characters himself - and provides his own sound effects. We're just guessing that he doesn't have a girlfriend."

I thought it was funny.

I mean, if you're going to do a one man Star Wars show you've got to expect people will take cracks at your nerdliness. If this was an issue for Mr. Ross (or his girlfriend) I'm sure he wouldn't have started his own one man Star Wars show.

That is very very nerdy.

(However I think it's awesome, so what does that say about me?)

Remember this is the paper that recently alluded to Suzanne's Somer's "camel toe"!

Okay, if other people found it funny then my bad. Didn't realize it was supposed to be a joke; I misinterpreted and thought it was a "this show is *so* worthless, I even think the person worthless".
