This year's "Egregiously Overlooked"?

Rachel York was great in her role of Norma, but her material was so pitiful, it made her look bad. She came through in most of her dialouge though. Her big solo was laughable.

In answer to Sueleen's question about the cast's response to Julie's refusal of the nomination, it's my understanding that they were quite proud of her. I'm sure they would have liked to see her win the Tony, but they stood squarely behind her decision. Both Tony Roberts and Rachel York refused invitations to be Tony presenters as a show of support for her.
While I feel the show was seriously flawed (the score chief among the problems), I think it absolutely should have been nominated for choreography, sets, lighting and costumes - and perhaps best musical given the slight competition that year. And without a doubt Rachel York was THE most egregiously overlooked member of the cast. She won the Drama Desk, for Pete's sake, and didn't even get a nomination? Ridiculous.

Sueleen,
I'm sure they did want her to win, but everything I've read indicates that they wanted to support her decision because they adored her so much.
I don't know if a Tony win for her would have made much difference in ticket sales anyway. Julie Andrews was the draw no matter what. It sure didn't last long after she left.
Regarding this year, I don't see any shows that could potentially be considered egregiously overlooked if they got just one nom. There may be quite a few that get just one, based on reviews I've read. I did see Deuce this weekend, and I'd be surprised if it gets any at all, even for Lansbury. It's just so weak. I saw Coast of Utopia, as well. I predict a slew for that show. Now I suppose if that got just one nomination, it could be considered in the EO category. It's such an event!
